On June 27th of NYC Gay Pride 2009 Weekend, NYC GoGirls Music Chapter & Tommy Boy’s Silver Label will team up to celebrate–to the day!–the 40th anniversary of the historic Greenwich Village landmark, The Stonewall Inn. The party will begin at 5:30PM (and over by 10:00PM), the evening kicks off with with a chick-rocking, vegan activist, whose "nipples taste like Tofu” before diving into a hot line-up of rocking girl bands from NYC and Toronto that includes Leibya Rogers (Mind Raf), Inky Glass, Dirty*Mothers, The NATCH!, and Hunter Valentine.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have NYC GoGirls & Tommy Boy Silver Label help us to celebrate our 40th Anniversary–to the day!–with a night of music, “said Manager at The Stonewall Inn, Kurt Kelly.
“All the bands are psyched to be able to perform for something so very important for us all.” “We feel truly honored to play Stonewall’s 40th,” says NYC GoGirls Chapter Coordinator, Trish Naudon.
Headlining the night will be Toronto’s own rocking trio, Hunter Valentine (pictured), who are jetting into NYC exclusively to perform at this very special event. Rosie Lopez, (VP of Tommy Boy Entertainment / Co-Founder of the LGBT-oriented Tommy Boy Silver Label) can’t wait! “We expect this to be an explosive night, although we won’t be tipping any police cars over, you should still expect a serious dose of kick-ass from Toronto’s young and sexy heartbreakers Hunter Valentine. If you don’t’ already have a crush on lead-singer Kiyomi, brace yourself, ‘cause you’ll be a tear-streaked groupie by the time they leave the stage. This will be a night to remember and we couldn’t think of a more appropriate occasion or location.” – Rosie Lopez
